Invitation for stakeholders to participate in the revision process of the PAFC Gabonese Certification Scheme 

PAFC Gabon, the association that administers the Gabonese Forest Certification Scheme, cordially invites any interested person or entity to attend the workshop launching the Scheme’s revision process on Wednesday, July 23, 2012  at the Ministry of Water and Forests, Libreville Gabon.

“The Workshop officially launches our schemes revisions process, said Rose Ondo, PAFC Gabon President”.“Formally approved by the General Assembly of PAFC Gabon in September 2008 and recognized by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) in April 2009 for a period of four years, the PAFC Gabon scheme will be revised this year to incorporate new data at national level and new requirements at the international”

Scheme revision, a requirement of PEFC International, ensures that standards meet the expectations of stakeholders on the ground, address local conditions, and are consistent with national laws and regulations, while at the same time meeting international benchmarks and being internationally recognized.

‘We look forward to receiving broad input from our stakeholders here in Gabon. Collaboration will help us enhance our standard and advance forest certification throughout our forests.’

The ECOFORAF project funded by the FFEM / AFD supports this workshop as well as the PAFC Gabon scheme revision process (component 3 of the project).
