Second call for your attention to the International Workshop on Sustainable Industrialisation and Commercialisation of Non-Timber_Forest Products (NTFPs)

This is a second call for your attention to the International Workshop on Sustainable Industrialisation and Commercialisation of Non-Timber_Forest Products (NTFPs), which will be held from August 25 to September 13, 2013 in China's Zhejiang Province.

As a result of accumulated experiences and studies in the past 15 years,  the workshop this year will bring leading experts and practitioners together tostudy and discuss on China's experiences in transforming its Non-Timber Forest Products sectors from small-scale, low-end, and labour intensive traditional practices, into robust and modern rural industries. Following 30 years of policy and technological development, the workshop will also highlight specific progress made in balancing bamboo economies with environmental conservation and the impact that this has had on providing sustainable incomes for more of China's 800 million rural communities - especially those that live in fragile ecological mountain regions.

Organised in conjunction with the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology and Lin'an Modern Forestry Technology Service Centre, participants will visit successful industrial models in Lin'an and Anji, Zhejiang Province, and meet with local government officials, corporate leaders, farmers, technicians, and the policy makers that regulate the markets.

Upcoming Events

Currently there are no events.

This calendar is based on information provided by COMIFAC and the Franco-German support office is considered a complementary event schedule to the official calendar posted on COMIFAC's website. (http://www.comifac.org/events). It offers a broad overview of international and regional events that are directly linked to CBFP's objectives: major conferences and meetings, workshops and training sessions and other activities scheduled by CBFP Facilitation and its member organisations.

Our choice is by no means exhaustive and depends largely on our partners' notice. Every partner organisation is thus welcome to contribute to a rich variety of posted events and to share its schedule with CBFP's Facilitation and the other members! We may also, upon request, forward your input to the COMIFAC webmaster.
