The Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union of Maritime Security and Development in Africa will take place from 2-7 November 2015 in Lomé, Togo. At the Lomé Conference, Heads of State and Government of the 54 countries in the African Union will meet with experts and leaders from the business world in order to establish a roadmap on Maritime Security in Africa, including an African strategy for protecting its oceans and seas that provides peace, security and stability. Delegates will discuss maritime strategy within the context of the 2050 Africa Integrated Maritime Strategy (2050 AIMS Strategy), including an implementation plan and roadmap for promoting a secure and sustainable blue economy. Participants will also address: maritime insecurity marked by acts of assault and piracy; illicit trafficking at sea; regional and international cooperation to safeguard marine safety; illegal fishing; and preservation of marine life. The Summit will build on the results of summits in 2013 and 2015, and aims to make maritime space the key driver of Africa's sustainable economic and social development.

Upcoming Events

Currently there are no events.

This calendar is based on information provided by COMIFAC and the Franco-German support office is considered a complementary event schedule to the official calendar posted on COMIFAC's website. (http://www.comifac.org/events). It offers a broad overview of international and regional events that are directly linked to CBFP's objectives: major conferences and meetings, workshops and training sessions and other activities scheduled by CBFP Facilitation and its member organisations.

Our choice is by no means exhaustive and depends largely on our partners' notice. Every partner organisation is thus welcome to contribute to a rich variety of posted events and to share its schedule with CBFP's Facilitation and the other members! We may also, upon request, forward your input to the COMIFAC webmaster.
