JEJC and Model Forest in Brazzaville, 26 - 27/10/2012

Under the supervision of the Government, the Young Professional Student initiated by the Ministry of Civic Education and Youth, in collaboration with NGOs and other organisations, EIJC Association, organises the Young Congolese Environmental Days from 26 to 27 October 2012, in Brazzaville.

In order to foster our Government’s efforts to alleviate poverty among the youths, protect the environment and promote sustainable development, EIJC (Espace Information Jeunesse du Congo) organizes these two days entitled Young Congolese Environmental Days, under the theme “Sustainable and Economic Development by Congolese Youths through Model Forests”.

New concept in the Republic of Congo and of Canadian origin, in the sustainable management of forests whose approach is to balance the social, cultural and economic needs of the local communities and the long-term sustainability of forest landscapes; the emergency to establish such forests in our country becomes more and more pressing, in as much as they emerge in several Congo Basin countries, except our country, Congo.

Considering the active implication of the Government of Canada in the Congo Basin in general, and in Congo in particular, (letter from Honorable Peter KENT: the Canadian Minister for Environment, concerning the current ministerial activities of Congo), we hereby apply for a financial and technical support, for the success of the Model Forests and Sustainable Development Days in the Congo Basin.

Upcoming Events

Currently there are no events.

This calendar is based on information provided by COMIFAC and the Franco-German support office is considered a complementary event schedule to the official calendar posted on COMIFAC's website. (http://www.comifac.org/events). It offers a broad overview of international and regional events that are directly linked to CBFP's objectives: major conferences and meetings, workshops and training sessions and other activities scheduled by CBFP Facilitation and its member organisations.

Our choice is by no means exhaustive and depends largely on our partners' notice. Every partner organisation is thus welcome to contribute to a rich variety of posted events and to share its schedule with CBFP's Facilitation and the other members! We may also, upon request, forward your input to the COMIFAC webmaster.
