COMIFAC: Workshop for the validation of the State of the Forests 2010, Douala, Cameroon

With the technical and operational support of the Observatory of Central African Forests (FOCA), COMIFAC is organising a workshop for the validation of the State of the Forests 2010 on next 29 and 30 March in Douala.

After the report on the State of the Forests 2005, 2006 and 2008 prepared by partners for the forests of the Congo Basin, OFAC shall take stock of the state of progress of EDF 2010.

« State of the Forests » reports make an appraisal as exhaustive as possible of the State of the Forests, ecosystems, biodiversity, population and of the socio-economic situation of the Congo Basin. Such an initiative which can only be the result of an extensive collaboration among various actors and partners, needs a validation, an indispensable requirement for the legitimacy of EDF reports.

The main objective of the workshop for the validation of the « State of the Forests » report is to help actors and partners of the Congo Basin forest sector to examine and validate the « State of the Forests 2010 » report. It is also expected that the EDF report 2012 shall be drafted during this important meeting.

Details concerning the workshop shall gradually be available on the OFAC's website

Upcoming Events

Currently there are no events.

This calendar is based on information provided by COMIFAC and the Franco-German support office is considered a complementary event schedule to the official calendar posted on COMIFAC's website. (http://www.comifac.org/events). It offers a broad overview of international and regional events that are directly linked to CBFP's objectives: major conferences and meetings, workshops and training sessions and other activities scheduled by CBFP Facilitation and its member organisations.

Our choice is by no means exhaustive and depends largely on our partners' notice. Every partner organisation is thus welcome to contribute to a rich variety of posted events and to share its schedule with CBFP's Facilitation and the other members! We may also, upon request, forward your input to the COMIFAC webmaster.
