The Workshop on the Institutional Architecture for the Science-policy Interface (SPI) on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) convened from 19-20 June 2015, in New York, US. Meeting at the Japan Society, the event was co-organized by the Earth System Governance Project, the Post 2015 Project and Keio University, with the support of Japan’s Ministry of Environment and the Japan Science and Technology Agency. Download the presentations from the Streams - The Thematic Sessions (Stream) of the 15th CBFP Meeting of Partners took place as part of implementation of the CBFP roadmap. The Streams helped strengthen coordination and promote information exchange, mobilization of CBFP partners, monitoring and evaluation of partners’ actions and communication around actions undertaken. It was equally observed that CBFP partners who took part in CBFP meetings were well informed and were eager to share knowledge regarding innovations, emerging results, and developments in the implementation of their programs and projects. The University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) are developing a new research facility, The Congo Basin Institute (CBI). It was launched during a signing ceremony on 20 June, in Yaoundé in the presence of H.E. Essimi Menye Lazare, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Cameroon, who expressed the support of the Cameroon Government for this initiative. The ceremony was chaired by Dr A. Namanga Ngongi, Vice Chair and a representative of the IITA Board of Trustees.

The Ambassador, Head of the EU Delegation in Cameroon made the announcement on June 18 during the official opening of the 15th CBFP meeting (Congo Basin Forest Partnership). Ambassador Françoise Collet announced the resumption of the CBFP Facilitation, hitherto provided by a consortium constituting the United States of America, Germany and Norway. Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, Neven Mimica, signed the Central Africa Regional Indicative Programme (RIP) of the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) for an amount of €350 million (229 billion CFA) for the period 2014-2020. Commissioner Neven Mimica said: "Regional integration is only viable when driven from within. It is a means to fulfil the policy objectives set out in the Cotonou Agreement, and to build on the achievements which the Economic Community of Central Africa and the Commission for Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa have already made, in economic and monetary integration, in peace and security, in infrastructure and in environment and natural resources".

The Working Group brings together actors in three (03) sections: economic, environmental and social.
